Normal traffic affected in Bastar due to chakkajam
Jagdalpur, Jan 2 (UNI) Normal traffic was affected in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh in view of two-day 'chakkajam (road blockade)' called by naxalite outfit CPI(Maoists), police said.
The road blockade was called to protest the death of 13 tribals in police firing in Orissa, firing on peasants in Singur of West Bengal and to protest the proposed steel plant in Bastar.
Passenger train between Bailadila and Vishakhapatnam was cancelled for Bailadila. The train would ply from Vishakhapatnam to Jagdalpur both days.
Buses running from Jagdalpur to Hyderabad were also not plying.
