National Junior Girls Football tournament begins tomorrow

Puducherry, Jan 2 (UNI) As many as 26 state teams will vie for honours in the fifth National Junior Girls Football tournament, which begins here tomorrow.

Puducherry Football Association President Balasubramanian today said the tournament would be played on a league-cum-knock out basis.

Out of the 26 teams, 22 would have to play the preliminary league matches.

Bengal, Manipur, Tamil Nadu and Orissa have been directly seeded into the quarterfinals, he added.
