Nadal wary of Rastogi in round two!
Chennai, Jan 2 (UNI) Spaniard Rafael Nadal, the world no 2 and the top seed at the Chennai Open 2007 is focussing on his second round match, no matter who the opponent is.
The top seed here does not really think that India's Karan Rastogi, who set up a contest with Nadal upsetting the higher ranked Thiago Alves of Brazil, would be a rookie and he can have an easy match.
''No it's not'', he said at a press conference, giving due respect to Karan's abilities when asked if he thought that his match against the Mumbai lad would be a cake walk.
''I am focussing on the match'', he said.
Asked how confident he was about winning his first Chennai Open title, Nadal said '' I am not thinking about the title as yet. That's next Sunday.'' ''Now I am thinking about the second round match tomorrow'', the star of this year's ATP tour event here said.
Nadal said he was happy that he won his first outing with ease.
''I am not yet giving my 100 per cent. I can improve. But I am happy I won.'' Nadal said he was mentally prepared for his match against German Rainer Schuettler. ''I know he is a good player. Every point as difficult. But I played better today. I wanted to win'', he said.
Asked if he thought that the crowd rooting for him everytime he wins a point put pressure on his opponent and acted as a plus point for him, Nadal said, ''That's nice. But that doesn't influence the match.'' Nadal said he was a little bit slow today. ''But for the first match of the new season that's normal.'' I was playing a (tough) rival like Schuettler. What is important is I won'', he added.
