Mawana Sugars, Siel to consider amalgamation on Jan 11

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Mawana Sugars and Siel Ltd will consider their amalgamation on January 11.

The companies' board will consider the scheme of amalgamation in seperate meetings on January 11, 2007, the companies separately informed the Bombay Stock Exchange today.

Siel Ltd manufactures cleaning chemicals such as caustic soda, chlorine, bleaching powder and edible vegetable oils, which are sold under the Cornola, Panghat, Ruby and Sunbeam brands. Earlier, as part of a plan to restructure the company's debts, spun off its sugar operations into a new company, Mawana Sugars Ltd.
