Kuwait to tighten visa issuance procedures
Dubai, Jan 2: Kuwait is set to tighten its visa issuance procedures and hike the fees and penalties in order to curb inflow of expatriates looking for jobs in the oil-rich kingdom.
The new system of fees and penalties for visit visas would be in force shortly, Arab Times quoted a source as saying.
It is suggested that a fee of KD 50 be charged for issuance of commercial, visit and family visas.
A fee of KD 100 and KD 150 for renewal of such visas for the first and second time is also recommended.
The new procedure would target sponsors who ignore rules and regulations leading to the entry of huge number of expatriates and increase in the number of crimes in Kuwait, the official said.
