Hyundai YoY sales grows 18.5 pc

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said it has registered a combined sale of 2,99,513 vehicles in 2006, posting an increase of 18.5 per cent as compared to 2,52,851 units sold in 2005.

In the domestic market it clocked a sales growth of 19.1 per cent with 1,86,174 units as compared to 1, 56,317 units in 2005. The overseas sales grew by 17.4 per cent with 1,13,339 units as against 96,541 units last year.

The month of December 2006 saw all time high sales in the overseas market with 12,288 units, posting a growth of 50 per cent over 8,192 units sold in the same period in 2005. The domestic market sales also showed substantial growth of 42.3 per cent over December 2005.

The cumulative sales figures for 2006 included 2,55,240 units in the A2 segment, 41,307 units in A3 segment, 1,927 in A4 segment, 506 in A5 segment and 533 in SUV segment.

The figures for December 2006 included 22,314 units in the A2 segment, 942 in A3 segment, 47 in A4 segment, 34 in A5 segment and 18 in SUV segment.
