New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) Dense fog today disrupted flight schedules at the International airport for the second consecutive day, resulting in cancellation of as many as 50 domestic departures and 36 domestic arrivals this morning.

''The dense fog this morning led to cancellation of 50 domestic departures and 36 domestic arrivals at the International airport due to poor visibility. Also cancelled were one International departure and one International arrival,''a spokesperson of the Airports authority of India said.

Arrival and departure of 30 flights, including eight International flights, were rescheduled this morning due to fog.

The spokesperson said the fog which enveloped the Delhi skyline since the night of December 31, dissipated only this afternoon.

''The dense fog on the night of December 31 led to the low visibility procedures being put into operation which continued all through yesterday and till this afternoon,''he said.

The LVP was finally terminated at 1326 hrs today when the visibility levels had risen to 1800 m.

The spokesperson said that there was a possibility of fog reducing visibility again after 2100 hours today when weathermen have forecast a reduction in visibility levels to 200 m.

The AAI has taken several measures to ease passenger congestion at the airport due to cancellation or rescheduling of flights, which include setting up of a free park and ride facility near the domestic airport, setting up temporary cabins outside terminal 1B for additional passenger seating and opening additional food and beverage counters and 24x7 restaurants for passenger comfort.
