Centre approves road improvement works in T'Nadu

New Delhi, Jan 2 (UNI) The Centre has approved road improvement works at several National Highway stretches in Tamil Nadu, involving a total amount of Rs 449.19 lakh.

The projects were sanctioned by Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu following a representation from the state government, a ministry spokesman said today.

One of the projects involves re-construction of culverts between Namanasamudram and Thirumayam in Pudukottai district on NH 210 at a cost of Rs 317.80 lakh.

Culverts are also to be reconstructed between Idaikkal and Kadayanallur in the Tirunalveli district on NH 208 at a cost of Rs 27.23 lakh.

Another project involves the reconstruction of culverts and construction of retaining wall on NH 208 between V Ammapatti and Kunnathur in Madurai district at a cost of Rs 104.16 lakh.
