BSP leader joins Samajwadi Party

Lucknow, Jan 2 (UNI) Senior BSP leader and ex-MLA from Sitapur Rampal Rajvanshi today joined the ruling Samajwadi Party along with several block pramukhs and other party workers.

Mr Rajvanshi, a former state minister, joined the SP in presence of state PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav here.

Talking to mediapersons, Mr Yadav said he would forward the name of Mr Rajvanshi as the SP assembly candidate from Macheretta assembly seat (Sitapur).

He said the defection of Mr Rajvanshi had finished the BSP in Sitapur.

Addressing the media, Mr Rajvanshi said it was a home coming for him, as he started his political career with the SP.

Criticising the sale of assembly tickets by BSP chief Mayawati, he said it was unfortunate that the party had done nothing for the dalits.
