Boy's murder: Police outpost attacked, cops wounded
Lucknow, Jan 2 (UNI) Irked over the kidnapping and murder of a five-year-old boy in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, an irate mob today attacked a police outpost injuring several policemen in the process.
The mob blocked the Bareilly-Agra highway and entered into a scuffle with the cops under the Kotwali area.
Several policemen and locals were injured, when the villagers resorted to stone pelting. The mob also vandalised some property of the police outpost.
According to police, the situation was tense, but under control.
On December 29, Sunil had abducted Umesh's five-year-old son Paras and later killed him. Sunil was a tenant of Umesh.
The accused has been arrested and had confessed to the crime.
Paras's body was recovered from a sugarcane field this morning.
