BJP to release candidates' list on January 8

Mumbai, Jan 2 (UNI) The seat sharing between Shiv sena-BJP for the the upcoming civic elections will be finalised in a couple of days and the list of BJP candidates will be declared on January 8.

A BJP release said here today that party general secretary Vinod Tavade has been assigned with the task of sorting out problems that come up in the seat adjustment with Shiv Sena.

The BJP leaders, including state party president Nitin Gadkari, Mr Tavade and leader of the opposition Pandurang Phundkar, today held discussions with local workers of all the ten municipal corporations.

According to BJP sources, barring Amravati and Akola, the seat adjustments in the other eight municipal corporations with Shiv had materialised.

When contacted, Shiv sena spokesman Manohar Joshi said the seat adjustment with BJP is in the final stage of discussions.
