Bihar: Train hits bullock cart, one killed

Bettiah, Jan 2: A man was killed today after a train hit a bullock cart at a level crossing near Sathi railway station of Muzaffarpur-Narkatiyaganj section under East Central Railway.

Railway sources here said the train, Jannayak Express running between Darbhanga and Amritsar, hit the bullock-cart as the gateman failed to close the road in time.

The pair of bulls pulling the cart also died in the accident, sources said.

The gateman had fled apprehending reprisal, sources added.

After a brief break, train services have resumed along the route, sources added.
