Al-Badr militant shot dead in Poonch

Jammu, Jan 2: Security forces today gunned down one militant of Pakistan-based al-Badr outfit at Tarnai in Manjakote area of the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Troops of 38 Rashtriya Rifles eliminated an al-Badr militant during an early morning operation at Tarnai in Poonch, Army spokesman Col D K Badola told sources.

One AK assult rifle was also recovered from the possession of slain militant, he said.

Identity of the militant was yet to be ascertained.
