'Air Force powerful to break into enemy's house'

Bikaner, Jan 2: Indian Air Force has become strong enough not only to enter enemy's territory but break straight into their house as well, said Air Marshal A K Singh (Western Command).

Air Marshal Singh, who was here today to inaugurate the International Camel festival, said Indian defence's Air wing is being modernised and upgraded to turn it into one of the most powerful units in the world in the present circumstances.

He said Air Force's fighter planes patrol the entire area ranging from Arabian Sea on one end to China on the other end.

Mr Singh said the project to buy 126 fighter planes worth Rs 8,000 crore would be completed within four-five years, which will strengthen the Air Force. He said 26 planes out of the 126 are already here and pilots are training on it.

He said even US has been impressed by the power of the Indian Air Force and is equally concerned about its improved status. He said US viewed it first hand during the joint war practice with Indian Air Force and are analysing the wing's strength.
