Tug-of-War Nationals from tomorrow

Hyderabad, Jan 1 (UNI) About 600 men and women will take part in the 19th Senior National Tug-of-War Championships beginning here tomorrow.

Speaking to the mediapersons Andhra Pradesh Tug-of-War Association President S Indrasain Reddy said 20 men's team and 17 women's team would take part in the event. ''We will develop this game and put our efforts to participate in the 2010 Commonwealth Games''.

The first dual citizen of India Iftekhar Shareef would sponsor the event.

Tug of War Federation of India Secretary General Madan Mohan said each team would consist of eight men or women and a mixed team consist of four men and four women.
