Slain UP minister's kidnapped relative rescued

Farrukhabad, Jan 1 (UNI) The brother-in-law of slain Uttar Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader Brahma Dutt Dwivedi was rescued from the clutches of kidnappers here today.

Vijay Kumar Dubey was allegedly kidnapped by armed miscreants on December 29 from Mau Darwaza area of Fatehgarh (Farrukhabad), when he was going to home.

Vijay is the prime witness in the Dwivedi murder case and is also fighting the case as lawyer.

Acting on a tip-off, police rushed to a spot near Bhulbhulapur Ganga Katri village in Shamshabad and rescued him.

However, the kidnappers managed to escape.

A manhunt has been launched.
