RINL makes Rs 9,000 cr sales turnover in 2006

Visakhapatnam, Jan 1 (UNI) The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) of Visakhpatnam Steel Plant (VSP) has achieved a sales turnover of Rs 9,000 crore in 2006, its Chairman cum Managing Director Y Siva Sagar Rao said today.

Speaking at a New Year function, he said the production of 3.12 million tonne of finished steel and 3,298 million tonne of saleable steel during 2006 was the best since its inception in a calendar year.

"VSP has a major role in promoting steel in rural areas and towards this, the Plant was planning to provide steel to rural areas at prices on par with the nearest metro", he said.
