Retired police constable murdered in Surat

Surat, Jan 1 (UNI) A retired constable of Surat rural police was found brutally murdered at Bhaiya Nagar in Poonagam area here today.

Police said the deceased, Sriram Narayanbhai Patel(58), a resident of Gayatri Nagar in Poonagam, was beaten with stones in an open ground in Bhaiya Nagar, this morning. There were deep wounds on his body.

Patel was a constable with Surat rural police and served in Mangrol and rural police headquarters in Surat.

Police have begun investigations to ascertain the cause of the death.
