Prayers for Saddam mark Eid-ul-Zuha celebrations in Capital
New Delhi, Jan 1 (UNI) Special prayers for former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, who was hanged in Iraq on Saturday, today marked the celebrations of the Eid-ul-Zuha festival in the Capital.
Hundreds of Muslims today took part in special prayers organised for Saddam at the Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri and other mosques in the capital.
The faithful offered namaz and exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, celebrated all over the world to remember Prophet Ibrahim's readiness to sacrifice his son Ismail to God.
The festival was also marked by the traditional sacrificing of goats.
This year, the festival is being celebrated two days after its celebrations in the Islamic world due to lunar calculations and the Indian calendar.
