Naxal shot dead in encounter

Ambikapur, Jan 1 (UNI) A naxal has been killed in an encounter with police at Jogibandh village in Chhattisgarh's Sarguja district headquarters, police said today.

On a tip-off that naxals had gathered at a place, police challenged the ultras. In the ensuing encounter, Jagsay was shot dead.

Police claimed that the deceased extremist was a CPI(Maoists) cadre. He was wanted in connection with several cases of loot and murder.
