CPI urges CM to reconsider RTC depots closure
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (UNI) CPI State Secretary K Narayana today urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to reconsider the government's decision to close down 12 Road Transport Corporation bus depots in the state.
In a letter to Chief Minister, Mr Narayana said it was reported that the government had decided to close down 23 depots including those running in profit. He said the management had declared its decision to close down 12 depots and five of them had already been closed.
Though the government had claimed closing of loss making depots, the management had decided to close even the profit-making Madhira and Kothakota depots, he alleged.
He said, it was the responsibility of Dr Reddy to immediately intervene and stop closing down of profit-making depots.
