475 artistes to partcipate in Thyagaraja Mahotasavam

Visakhapatnam, Jan 1 (UNI) As many as 475 artistes from Andhra Pradesh will participate in the five-day-long Thyagaraja Aradhana Mahotasavam, which will begin at Kalabharati here from January seven.

Talking to newspersons here today, Thyagaraja Aradhana Trust Secretary I V L Sastry and President C S N Raju said the festival was organised every year during 'Pushya Bhanul Panchami', the death anniversary of Saint Musician Thyagaraja.

The response from the artistes was overwhelming.

Prominent artistes, who will participate in the festival were Arundhati Sarkar, Dwaram Durgaprasad and Vankayala Narashimham, they added.
