US Mission in metros to be closed on January 2

New Delhi, Dec 31 (UNI) The US Mission in the capital and the three other metros will remain closed on January two as a mark of respect to former US President Gerald R Ford, who passed away recently.

However, the Missions' Consular Affairs operations in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata will remain open for existing visa appointments and any emergencies involving American citizens, according to a US embassy release.

All Mission offices will re-open on January three and a condolence book will again be available for signing at the American Center on Kasturba Gandhi Marg, the release added.
