UP Governor, CM extend Bakrid and New Year greetings
Lucknow, Dec 31 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeshwar and chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today wished people a happy and prosperous New Year and Idu'l Zuha, which is being celebrated tomorrow.
In separate messages, the Governor and CM wished that the festival would spread the spirit of tolerance, mutual understanding and universal brotherhood among people of the state.
''Idu'l Zuha is a festival of sacrifice, which inspires us to share happiness and help the needy and may 2007 bring new hopes and happiness to every citizen,'' they said.
''On Idu'l Zuha and New Year, one should help the poorest of the poor as God multiplies our happiness. We should strive towards strengthening the social fabric and helping the less blessed people around us,'' they added.
