Tata Indicom focuses on wireline services

Kolkata, Dec 31: Tata Indicom, India's premier telecom serviceprovider, has launched Tata Indicom Wireline service for the BusinessTo Business (B2B) customer segment of Kolkata.

Speaking on the occasion here today, Tata Teleservices Ltd CircleOperating Officer-Kolkata Abhijit Pal said, ''It is our endeavour toprovide superior product to the customers through technologyleadership.'' A new Alcatel switch has been installed in the city tocater to the needs of the targetted customers. The switch has beendesigned for a multiservice and multimedia environment.

Tata Indicom uses Optical Fibre Cable(OFC) instead of thetraditional copper lines as these give voice clarity, quickconnectivity and the maintenance cost too is reduced. The customers canchoose from an array of flexible tariff plans available.

The wireline customers would enjoy better call completion rate,reduced network congestion, reduced costs and increased operation-maintenance efficiency.

Elaborating Tata Indicom's efforts to provide high qualityservices to its customer, Mr Pal further said, ''Tata Indicom, whichconnects over 14 million customers, will focus on aggressiveexpansion.'' Some of the corporate houses, which has already opted forTata Indicom Wireline Services are PWC, Metaljunction, ICICI, DeutscheBank, ING Bank etc.

Tata Teleservices operates in 3100 towns across 20 circles and has a customer base of over 14 million.
