NSE, BSE to devp portal for filing dissemination
Mumbai, Dec 31: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay StockExchange (BSE) are developing a common portal for dissemination ofelectronic filing by corporates, listed on the Indian stock markets,and it will become operational from April 1, 2007.
Once operational, the investors will be able to access at thewebsite the latest filings by any corporates irrespective of theexchange on which the shares of the corporate are listed.
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) will mandate electronic filing by the listed companies in a phased manner.
The listed companies will be encouraged to file electronicallyeither through NSE or BSE filing system. The information filedelectronically would be available on a common portal for dissemination,a release said, adding, the filing system will go live by next week.
The release said the Exchanges, during the intermittent period,will create sufficient awareness about e-filing among filers and aboute-dissemination among investors to upgrade their systems.
In common filing system, a company was required to file only onceirrespective of whether it was listed on NSE or BSE. But on the portal,information is mandatorily required in terms of the listing agreementin respect of companies listed on NSE/BSE. With this, the informationwill be available at one place, the release added.
