No move to lift prohibition: Amit Shah

Ahmedabad, Dec 31 (UNI) Gujarat Government has clarified that there was no move to lift prohibition from the state and yesterday's order was merely to ease restrictions on visitors to the state from other parts and abroad.

Home Minister Amit Shah, in a press release here today, said the state government is fully committed to the prohibition policy and there is no change in its thinking, contrary to what some newspapers have reported today.

Yesterday's order is only to ensure hassle-free provision of liqour permits to foreigners on a visit to Gujarat, he added.
