Demo against Saddam's execution

Puducherry, Dec 31 (UNI) The Puducherry units of the CPI (M) and CPI today held separate demonstrations to condemn the execution of deposed Iraq President Saddam Hussein.

Led by State Secretary V Perumal, the CPI (M) volunteers held a demonostration at the Kamaraj Square and shouted slogans denouncing US President George Bush.

The vounteers also set on fire an effigy of Mr Bush. Three persons were arrested.

Led by State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan and National Council Member R Viswanathan, MLA, the CPI volunteers held a demonstration at the Indira Gandh Square here.
