Puducherry, Dec 31 (UNI) The Puducherry Unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) today urged the Centre to order an inquiry into the 'grand cocktail party' allegedly organised by State Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao here on December 27.

In a statement here, CPI(ML) State Secretary S Balasubramanian demanded the officials concerned be suitably punished and it be made public who permitted Mr Rao to host the party.

He said the entire expenditure incurred for the party be collected from Mr Rao.

He demanded the Congress Government, led by Mr Rangasamy, resign on the issue. If it failed to do so, the Centre should dismiss the government.

The party would organise agitations if the Centre failed to take action against the government, he added.
