CPI seeks inquiry against officials hindering schemes

Puducherry, Dec 31 (UNI) The CPI in Puducherry today sought an open inquiry against the officials, who were hindering the implementation of plan schemes.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the state administrative committee meeting of the party here yesterday, party state secretary Na Ra Kalainathan said in a statement here today.

The meeting expressed concern over Chief Minister N Rangasamy's reported statement in the plan review meeting that the funds meant for the implementation of people welfare schemes in the Union Territory were being surrendered due to the slow pace of action by the officials concerned.

The meeting also resolved to organise demonstrations in front of several departments of the administration to bring the erring officials to the notice of the public, he added.
