CM announces Rs 50,000 solatium to families of workers

Puducherry, Dec 31: Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy hasannounced a solatium of Rs 50,000 each to the families of the fivepersons.

Five workers of the private Karur-based KCP industries atThiruvandarkoil near here died after inhailing poisonous gas when theyentered the sewerage treatment plant. Three other workers were alsoaffected in the incident, which happened yesterday.

The Chief Minister visited the injured at the government general hospital here and consoled them.

He also ordered an inquiry into the mishap by Sub-collector (South) Vincent Rayer.
