Antony greets Armed Forces on New Year-eve

New Delhi, Dec 31: Greeting the Armed Forces personnel on the eveof the New Year, Defence Minister AK Antony today said their sacrificeswhile performing their duties would always be remembered by a gratefulnation.

In a message here, the Defence Minister hoped that the New year --"a time for fresh hopes and expectations" -- may usher in peace,prosperity, goodwill and happiness for all members of the Armed Forces.

He said, "Reflecting on the year that has gone by, my thoughts goout to our Jawans who lost their lives while performing their duties ininhospitable terrain and adverse climatic conditions, living away fromtheir families.. The nation will always remember their sacrifice.." MrMinister also extended New Year greetings to the civilian employees inthe Ministry of Defence and their families.
