3 held for robbery

Vijayawada, Dec 31 (UNI) The city police arrested three persons and recovered 25 tola of gold and five kg of silver ornaments worth about Rs 3.5 lakh from their possession here last night.

Addressing a press meet here today, West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said on tip off, police arrested A Rambabu and A Rajesh near a jewellery shop in old town and recovered the ornaments from them.

Later, the accused confessed one T Appa Rao was involved in purchasing and selling the stolen property. He was also arrested.

He said Rambabu and Rajesh was involved in nine cases in the past two years.
