VTU-Edusat should be used to improve quality of Education

Mysore, Dec 30 (UNI) Karnataka IT and BT Secretary M N Vidya Shankar today said that VTU-Edusat net work should be utilised for promotion of quality education and employability.

Speaking after visiting E-Learning Centre of Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) here, he suggested that since major IT companies require quality manpower, VTU should embark on designing and conducting tests and assessments of international standard including GRE and GMAT, so that a large pool of VTU certified graduates would be available for companies.

The IT department was keen to support initiatives that provide good employability, he added.

VTU E-Learning Centre Special Officer Dr G L Shekar explained various technology enabled education program of VTU, more so the Edusat based education that is revolutionising technical education in the country.
