Vigilance issues challan against 2 J
Srinagar, Dec 30 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (VO) has issued a challan against two officials of the J&K Cements limited in the court of Special Judge Anti-corruption here today.
A spokesman of the VO said an amount of Rs 50,000 was handed over to the accused, Abdul Majeed Sheikh, an official assistant in the J&K Cement in the year 1999-2000 for payment of token tax in respect of departmental vehicles.
However, the accused produced forged receipts of the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Srinagar, for an amount of Rs 38,995 in the office.
Similarly, the investigation also established that another accused, Abdul Majeed Bhat, had also forged GRs for an amount of Rs 19,380 which were meant for payment of token tax in the RTO office, Srinagar.
The investigation established the criminal acts of both the accused officials through oral and documentary evidence.
After obtaining the sanction from the Management of J&K Cements Limited, the challan was issued in the Court of Law, he said.
