V P Singh, Babbar attack UP on Noida serial killings

Lucknow, Dec 30: Reiterating the charge of failure on the law and order front in Uttar Pradesh, Jan Morcha leaders V P Singh and Raj Babbar today alleged ''inaction'' on the part of the state government in the case of Noida serial killings of children.

''We pointed out the disappearance of children in Noida in our news conference on September 21, but the police failed to achieve any breakthrough,'' they told reporters here. They claimed timely action could have saved some lives.

Demanding a CBI probe, Mr Singh and Babbar said that the UP Police could not be trusted. Both the leaders were furious that not only had the police failed to file complaints regarding the missing children, but made ''derogatory remarks'' against the complainants.

''The Mulaym Singh Yadav regime should be labelled as most high handed and inefficient and its days are now numbered,'' Babbar added.

Condemning the poice on yet another ''flip flop'' on the Kavita Rani case, the leaders blamed the Meerut Police for presenting a lopsided picture of the incident. The case should also be probed by the CBI, they demanded.
