Two person nabbed in connection with murder of a Software Engineer
Bangalore, Dec 30 (UNI) The city police have closed the murder case of a software engineer here with the arrest of two persons, trailing them by the use of the ATM card they had stolen from the victim.
Police have arrested J Raju and Venkatesh for the murder of Adhipi Lahiri, a software engineer who was strangulated on December 21 with the body thrown near a lake.
Commissioner N Achutha Rao told newspersons here that the culprits were caught by the usage of the ATM card with which they had drawn about Rs one lakh from State Bank of Mysore ATM machines in Kolar and Kolar gold fields.
Mr Achutha Rao said that Raju had earlier worked in Dell Company as Transport Supervisor and was removed from the service, while Venkatesh was suspended from the job as Security Guard in Genisys, a software company.
Joint Commissioner of Police Gopal B Hosur, said that the modern technology came handy in nabbing the culprits.
He said that though Lahiri was not their target, the culprits saw him coming out from ITPL with laptop. The culprits, who had borrowed a car from a friend, acted as if their car had developed some problem and when Lahiri entered his car they sprayed pepper poweder on his face and forced him inside his car.
They later over powered him, gagged his mouth and drove away.
Before killing and dumping the body they not only robbed off his belongings but also secured the ATM code number.
