TRCCC urges High Command to decide soon on Telangana issue
Hyderabad, Dec 30 (UNI) The Telangana Regional Congress Coordination Committee (TRCCC) today urged the party High Command to decide soon on the Telangana issue in view of the recent Karimnagar Lok Sabha election results.
The TRCCC meeting, which was chaired by PCC President and TRCCC Chairman K Kesava Rao wanted the High Command to take early follow up steps to uphold the party's resolution on Telangana.
Talking to reporters here after the meeting, PCC President Keasava Rao said the meeting had passed a resolution asserting that the Telangana issue will be resolved without any further delay.
Hailing Rajasekhara Reddy led government for increasing the allocation to Telangana as compared to other regions, particularly in irrigation and power sectors, he said the TRCCC had maintained that ''the backward Telangana region deserves more allocation''.
It wanted the government to harness Godavari to full potential to utilise Telangana's 700 tmc of water share.
About jobs for the local people, he said the meeting in an another resolution welcomed the formation of the House Committees to monitor the implementation of the GO 610.
He said the meeting had urged the government to take all steps to ensure seven hours of uninterrupted power supply to farmers.
The meeting also condemned the politicisation of the power crisis by the TDP, Mr Rao added.
