Shatabdi passengers charged additional amounts
Bhopal, Dec 30 (UNI) Passengers on today's Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express were taken aback when charged minor additional amounts.
Those travelling from Delhi to Agra or Jhansi had to cough up Rs 5 each while those journeying here were asked to pay Rs 10. Though the ticket inspector furnished receipts, it was unclear why the amounts were charged.
West-Central Railway (Bhopal Division) Manager Ashok Agrawal said that he was unaware of the development but added that the receipts meant there was no irregularity.
The amounts might have been charged as service tax on breakfast and lunch provided by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, which has assumed the responsibility of providing meals on the train. However, that could not be officially confirmed.
