Precious metals rise on heavy demand by retailers
Mumbai, Dec 30 (UNI) Both the precious metals rose on heavy demand by retailers with Silver up by Rs 105 per kg and Gold by Rs 25 per ten gm on the last day of the yearend trading on the Bombay Bullion Exchange today.
Silver fineness opened high at Rs 19,485 per kg on higher advices. Later, it closed at Rs 19,535 per kg, with a gain of Rs 105 per kg from yesterday's close.
In London, the white metal was quoted at 12.89/12.94 per troy ounce against USD 12.84/12.89 per troy ounce in New York.
Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) opened higher at Rs 9,165 and Rs 9,210 per ten gm respectively on better demand.
The yellow metal closed at Rs 9,170 and Rs 9,215 per ten grams respectvely from its last close.
In London, the yellow metal was at USD 631.10/636.10 per troy ounce as compared to USD 629/631.00 per troy ounce in New York on Friday.
