Pawar condemns Saddam's execution

Mumbai, Dec 30 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar today condemned the execution of deposed Iraqi president Saddam Hussain.

Talking to mediapersons at the party office here, he criticised the haste with which the ''puppet government'' in Iraq carried out the execution.

''Saddam was a friend of India and had supported our country at all international fora, Mr Pawar said, adding he will now become a martyr.

Mr Pawar said it is those countries, which had invaded Iraq, who would be responsible in case there was any increase in violence following Saddam's execution.
