NRI among three sent to judicial custody till Jan 12
Jalandhar, Dec 30 (UNI) A local court today sent three activists of International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF-Rode Group), accused of carrying RDX and other arms and ammunition, to judicial custody till January 12.
The three accused, UK based NRI Paramjit Singh Dhaddi alias Punjab Singh, Amolak Singh and Jaswinder Singh were today produced before the trial magistrate, where the police did not seek any further police custody of the accused. The court subsequently sent them to judicial custody till January 12.
Later, the three accused were sent to the Nabha jail.
Meanwhile, two officials from the British High Commission in India came to Jalandhar to see UK based NRI Paramjit Singh Dhaddi and seek report his case.
They also met the investigating officer in charage of the case and other police officials.
The police had earlier arrested the three accused on December 23 evening from different places reportedly with 11 Kg of RDX,11 timer devices, 2 batteries, 2 pistols, 4 magazines 100 cartridges, 10 mts of wire and a walkie talkie and claimed that the module was trying to revive terrorist activities in Punjab during assembly election.
