Modi warns doctors against misuse of technology for PNDT
Rajkot, Dec 30 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has cautioned doctors against misusing technology for pre-natal sex determination test or Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques (PNDT).
Speaking at a public rally here last evening, organised for 'Matruvandana Yatra' against female foeticide, the Chief Minister warned the section of medical fraternity indulging in such malpractices.
He urged people to write him a postcard about any such 'sin' whenever they came across it and promised prompt action.
He claimed that the ratio of mortalities of mothers and infants was on a decline following his government's effort against female foeticide. The scheme to help pregnant women by providing them incentives and good helath care, had yielded good results too, he said.
The 'sankalp patra' (vow not to commit the sin of sex determination and female foeticide), which the BJP leaders had collected during their door to door campaign, was handed over to Chief Minister Modi by them.
