MIT golden jubilee from January

Mangalore, Dec 30 (UNI) Over 20 Technical Conferences of National and International level, Cultural events through out the year 2007 will mark the year long celebration of golden jubilee of the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), a constituent college of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a Deemed University.

Talking to newsmen here, MAHE Pro-Vice Chancellor Brig S S Pabla said that the intake into the MIT would be doubled within next five years from the present 1300. Students from 50 different countries are studying in 14 disciplines and 13 post graduate courses.

The MIT recently added an innovation centre and a lecture hall complex which houses Research and testing facilities for industrial projects and technology lab to promote inter-disciplinary research activities.

Technical Fests, Sports events and social activities would also be held during the golden jubilee year.
