Metals up on lesser stock supply

Mumbai, Dec 30 (UNI) Metals went up on lesser stock supply, in the last day of trading 2006, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous metal Copper heavy, copper utensils went up by Rs 100 per quintal each and Aluminium utensils and Brass utensils rose by Rs 200 and Rs 100 respectively.

In the non-ferous metals, Copper wire bars and Aluminium Ingots went up by Rs 500 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively. Tin slab was slightly up by Rs four per kg on fresh buying support.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,300, copper utensils - Rs 30,600, brass utensils - Rs 22,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,000.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,500, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,400, zinc slab - Rs 23,000, lead ingots - Rs 7,800, tin slab - Rs 602 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,730 (per kg).
