Master Plan 2021 provisions will destroy Delhi health services:BJP
New Delhi, Dec 30 (UNI) BJP Delhi Pradesh President Harsh Vardhan today said the present provisions of the Master Plan 2021 would destroy the entire health services structure of Delhi.
In view of the provision laid down in the Master Plan that a minimum 50 square meter land is required to run health clinics, dispensaries and diagnostics laboratories, more than 40 thousand doctors of Delhi shall be forced to close down their health services which are being provided by them, Dr Harshvardhan said in a statement.
''Plots of 200 square m are required for running Nursing Homes.
These services cannot be provided from the basements.
The Master Plan also opposes providing health services in DDA flats and Group Housing Societies. If these provisions are complied with more than 80 per cent of the health services of Delhi shall be closed, adversely affecting the lives of the people,''he said.
He said according to the standards of the WHO there must be a five-bedded hospital for every one thousand people.
At present there are only 2.2 beds for every one thousand people in Capital. The structure of the city is such that the Doctors have made arrangements at their own level to provide health services to the people near their houses.
Dr Harshvardhan said 30 lakh people of the capital live in such areas where the Government has provided maximum 18 square meter plots to the people. No health service is available from the Government near their houses in these areas. If the provisions of new Master Plan is followed then all the Nursing Homes, clinics, dispensaries, diagnostic centres shall be closed in these areas.
He demanded that rejecting the requirement of 200 square m plots for running a Nursing Home, permission should be given for running Nursing Homes on 100 meters plots and the Nursing Homes operating at present should be allowed to operate.
According to the standards of the Health Services Directorate Nursing Homes, Clinics, dispensaries, diagnostic centres should be allowed to operate on 13.5 m wide roads in A to D category and on 9 m roads in other categories.
Meanwhile, traders here today decided to launch an aggresive citywide agitation in protest against present provisions of Master Plan 2021.
In a statement issued after a meeting of traders, under the banner of the Confederation of All India traders, the traders said,''both wholesale and retail traders of Delhi are deeply agitated over the news reports about MPD-2021 which clearly speaks non application of mind by DDA in drafting the MPD-2021.'' The traders at the meeting unanimously resolved to put all efforts in inclusion of a mechanism of regularisation of all business establishments that existed as on December 31 last year.
The CAIT has also demanded a separate policy for the egularisation of traders who have come up in a period between January 1 to December 31 this year.
While intensifying their agitation, the traders will meet the acting Lt Governor A R Kidwai and Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and if things are not sorted out, the traders will also meet Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy and his Minister for state for Urban Development Ajay Maken.
