Maoist leader escapes from police

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 30 (UNI) CPI (Maoist) leader Katti Mohan Rao alias Prakash reportedly managed to escape from police here today.

District Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said the police tried to stop a two wheeler which did not have any registration number, in the wee hours today, at Pothana Nagar here.

However, the driver did not stop the vehicle and in his attempt to escape from police, he dropped a plastic cover.

The police found a 0.32 revolver in the plastic cover.

The escaped person is suspected to be Maoist leader Rao.
