Lalli takes over as Prasar Bharati CEO
New Delhi, Dec 30 (UNI) Mr Baljit Singh Lalli has taken over as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prasar Bharati.
The appointment was made on the recommendation of a high-level selection committee headed by the Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, as per the provisions of The Prasar Bharati Act.
The post of CEO of the country's national broadcasting organisation comprising Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR), was lying vacant since the former CEO K S Sarma rpt Sarma retired in June this year. AIR Director General Brijeshwas Singh had been officiating as the CEO.
Mr Lalli was Secretary, Border Management in the Ministry of Home Affairs, prior to taking over the position.
An IAS Officer of UP cadre, he posesses three decades of administrative and managerial experience. He had worked as Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Agriculure. He was a Member Secretary of the National Capital Region Planning Board and contributed towards the formulation of the Regional NCR Plan 2021.
He has also been a part-time Chairperson of the Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC).
