Jaya condemns Saddam execution
Chennai, Dec 30 (UNI) Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today described as ''outrageous'', the execution of former Iraq President Saddam Hussein and hit out at US President George Bush for perpetrating the execution.
''This outrage has been meticuluously and successfully perpetrated, to the full satisfaction of the American President George Bush'', Ms Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.
She said it was with a sense of shock and disbelief that the free world came to learn that Saddam Hussein was put to death today at the instance of the US.
''The US President, we are told, was extremely particular and most insistent that the death sentence awarded to Saddam Hussein by a Kangaroo court in Iraq, remote controlled by the US, should be carried out before December 31, 2006,'' Ms Jayalalithaa said.
Decrying the US invasion of Iraq, she said it was incomprehensible how US could entertain the notion that it was superior to all the other countries of the world and arrogate itself the power and jurisdiction to intervene in the internal affairs of another nation.
