Forum for dalits and minorities launched

Patna, Dec 30 (UNI) A new global social organisation called 'Dalit and Minorities Internationl Forum' has been launched to bring those working for welfare and uplift of the underprivileged under one roof.

Lok Janata Party (LJP) spokesman Sanjay Singh today said a two day dalits and minorities international conference was held in New Delhi recently under the newly formed forum.

The forum was chaired by Union steel and fertiliser minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Mr Singh said.

Delegates from USA, Australia, Britain, Sewden, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Pakistan along with some other countries had participated in the conference, he added.

The international conference would be held biennially and the next conference would be organised in USA in 2008.

A list of conveners of all the participating countries had been issued after the end of the conference.
